The functional buttons on a DVD Player are Rewind, Pause, Play, Forward
Rewind–living in the past. You keep living what happened to you years ago. And you can’t function, nor move forward for always looking back at what happened to you. You are losing time.
Pause– Not moving or functioning at all. You desire more, but the cares of life have weighted you down. You hurt so bad and the pain is so intense that you have just stopped living. You no longer dream. Your smile has gone. You are just stuck.
Play– what happens will happen. You do just enough to get by. Which way the wind blow you just sing along. That’s it,, you just do because others are doing. You are going to work everyday, you go to church on Sunday, but your outlook on life is cloudy. You say, if I can just make it through today.
Forward– This button represents those of us that’s hungry for more. We are maintaining the present, but we are moving towards our future. We dream. We get up early in the morning and get ready for the day. We keep our dreams and goals in our focus. We may get knocked down, but that does not stop us. We represent the go getters. We have been wounded, but it didn’t kill us. Our heart is still racing for what is going to come. We are still looking over the horizon, because we believe that the sun WILL shine. We represent Philippians 3:14 (MSG): Look at what it says,
Focused on the Goal
12-14 I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

I am pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. When I press forward I am pursuing after God by walking in all His ways. Following His Love walk, His Faith walk and His walk in Victory found all in the Word of God. His Word brings the light to the path we have to follow so that we may clearly see and by Faith, (Hallelujah!)I am walking there in.
