My Marriage

My Marriage

Today (December 20th) is our 36th Wedding Anniversary and my announcement is, “Our Marriage is still Under Construction”. We are still learning to love each other, respect each other and honor each other. When people ask us what’s the secret. We say there is no hidden secret formula. The answer is very public. Everyone has access to it.

It’s Proverbs 3:3-6:

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, 4 And so find favor and high esteem

In the sight of God and man. 5.Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 IN ALL YOUR WAYS acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

So we are still building our Marriage. We have to continously piece by piece appreciate the small things that matter and just like the construction site, we have to throw out the things that could cause us to collapse. We don’t even pretend to have it all together, but we daily realize that God is still working on us and our hearts are to be two vessels that are Acceptable to God. Nothing more! So when differences comes up I look at him and he looks at me and we see someone still being worked on by the King of kings and Lord of lords. This causes our relationship to become fertile ground for love and respect and honor to grow. No secrets, just stay at the construction site.. PastorJohn E. Grayson

  1. Happy Anniversary! Such GREAT words of wisdom to share! My prayer is that as my husband and I stay at the construction site that the Lord will continue to grow us in His way!!! We love you all and are grateful to God for not only the example you all are to us, but also for your transparency.

  2. Love it!
Still under construction. I have to keep in mind that my husband is God’s project for construction and not my own. I try so hard to help him be who I think he should be but that is all wrong. God has a plan for his life and yes I am a part of it but it is not my job to change or conform him in the direction I think is appropriate. God is in control! I will let Him be Lord over my life, my marriage, my everything!

Thanks for sharing and congratulations on 36 years of construction ! ❤️Love y’all!
